FAQ

logoWhy can’t we just search the web, find a few vendors and select one on our own? We have extremely talented staff on board who can certainly handle this task.

One of the comments we heard is, "Your assistance can save us about a month in down time during our outsourcing process."   Although Advantura matches your requirements with vendors' competencies, our work is not just choosing a software developer. It also involves contract negotiations, getting you the best price, and assistance with legal issues such as intellectual property and contract law in both US and offshore locations. Software vendors welcome our involvement because they know Advantura presents a complete and accurate description of their capabilities.

logoCan IT staff or people from other departments be involved in working with you?

Yes, we welcome all staff participation.

logoWhat if I don't have a large project?  Do you work with small companies?

Yes, we work with small as well as large projects.  Advantura tailors our work to the client's needs, as each company is different. We don't come with preconceived notions, and work with you in developing solutions to the particular issues you face.

logoMy company has offices in both the US and overseas.  Are you qualified to assist beyond US borders?

Yes, Advantura offers services around the world.  The founders of the company have lived and worked abroad, and have started companies themselves in foreign lands.  We also have a worldwide network of associates.  We are a full service company.

logoShould I choose a local software development partner or an offshore partner who has experience relevant to my application?

This is not a "one size fits all" decision.  Many factors need to be considered to find the right fit between you and a software development partner.  These include the current project, potential future projects, your strategic objectives, your corporate culture, management's preferences, budgets, and risk tolerance.
From the software vendor's perspective,

    • issues include application expertise,
    • technical and managerial proficiency,
    • development process,
    • and tools.

Legal considerations, their flexibility in negotiating Service Level Agreement contracts, intellectual property considerations, their ability to offer you protection from operational and legal risks - especially in certain offshore locations - also apply.

logoWhat is Advantura's involvement in the project?

We meet with you to analyze your requirements, needs, and preferences.  We assist you in reviewing an extremely helpful checklist of items to consider when outsourcing.  (You may download our checklist from this website.)

After assessing your requirements and helping you write a vendor RFP,  we do a considerable amount groundwork.  We  determine which vendors have the technology, expertise, and customer support to meet your company's requirements.

We then present you with two or three development firms which we believe will meet your needs.  We will arrange meetings with these firms, and attend these meetings with  you.

We continue to assist you through the completion of the vendor selection process.  Should you require, we provide counsel with legal issues as well. Once the vendor is selected and engagement agreements signed, Advantura can bow out, or can continue to work with you as long as required, to ensure the smooth progression of the project from your end.

logoWe've never done this before.  How do I know you're the best firm for us?

We can provide references, and please do not hesitate to call if you have further questions.

Also, our reputation is critically important. We won't take a job if we believe we cannot meet your company's needs.  If we're not the right firm for you, we'll say so.
